Meet the real life movie inspirations
Indiana Jones
Real life inspiration: Roy Chapman Andrews
In reality: Andrews was a globe-trotting relic hunter from America with a pennant for wearing a wide brimmed hat. He discovered dinosaur eggs in the Gobi Desert, fought off gangs of bandits and battled with snakes, once killing 47 vipers in one night with his men.
In the movies: Andrews is said to have inspired the Indy character, as played by Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones films, and soon to appear on our screens in 'The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull'.
