Police have unveiled their latest crime-fighting machine - a new pedal-powered patrol car.

The battery assisted five-gear motor comes complete with a flashing blue light and siren to deter anti-social behaviour.

PC Waller built the car with kids from the local school. And he has made somewhat of an impact, even though most criminals will be able to outrun the 20mph motor.

Unsurprisingly, he admits he's received a mixed reaction: "People have made comparisons between me and Mr Plod from 'Noddy' but I take it all in good spirits," he said. "It's just a bit of a laugh.
