Iconic police cars
Mini Cooper
Here, the Manchester Police line-up their impressive collection of Minis. The Mini was adopted around 1965 when the iconic brand was dominating the rallying scene, and continued to use them across much of the UK until around 1970.
Apprehending speedy cars or throwing larger framed criminals in the back was never going to be its strong suit, but its unparalleled handling and size made it perfect for intercity crime busting. With a jazzed up 1275cc engine it quickly hit the motorways as well.
