Author and founder of the AppealNow.com website Barrie Segal has compiled a list of the most foolhardy parking tickets ever awarded in the UK.
Michael Collins is one such motorist. While driving his truck in London's Belsize Park the road collapsed beneath the wheels, leaving his vehicle trapped.
However a nearby parking inspector saw this as no excuse, and uttering the immortal line "You can appeal", she ticketed the truck (as seen above, photo by Sue Melkman).
