When Clarkson and May headed to the Antarctic to drive 4x4s it all seemed like a good laugh. Setting out across the icy snow with cans of caviar and fine cheeses in a heavily modified Toyota Hilux (complete with shotgun) it seemed all would go smoothly.

Then as the polar bears started circling and the lads had to cross a frozen yet cracking sea it all became very serious. It was to be a record breaking trip to the North Pole and with Hammond chasing on a dog sled not a second could be wasted. When it all ended, Clarkson and May had succeeded in becoming the first ever people to reach the Magnetic North Pole in an automobile.
