This hardtop family car was one of Dodge's more sensible releases. Like its brothers and sisters the Monaco was blessed with those V-8s and stayed in production until 1992.

In 1980 a very special Monaco appeared, "The Bluesmobile". From the film 'The Blues Brothers' the car is described by Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) as follows: "It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas."
