I have just split with my girlfriend...
I have just split with my girlfriend - I'm 22 she's 20. However, I think she wants to stay with me even though she was the one to break up because she's said she would be jealous if she saw me with someone else.
Basically I think she feels too young to be tied down and not experienced enough of life, for example with dating other people. What do I do? Wait for her to change her mind and take me back? Tell her we are never going to get back together? I don't know what to do. I really want her back, I love her loads. I would really appreciate a response as I'm going out of my mind on this.
Yes us women can be very strange creatures at times - giving you the come on one minute only to be giving you the cold shoulder the next. I think part of what you have said could be true. 20 is still a fairly young age to be contemplating getting serious and maybe she has got cold feet, so that could possibly be your answer. But then again us girls occasionally act a particular way to provoke an extreme change or action when we can't say how we really feel.
Have you ever thought that your girlfriend might have dumped you to make you want her even more? You know the old saying "Treat them mean, keep them keen" Maybe she has been feeling a bit neglected, that you don't take her seriously enough and this is her way of telling you to "buck up your ideas or I'm off!"
I know crazy - but most of the time these 'games' tend to pay-off, but in your girlfriend's case it seems to have back-fired and now she may be feeling too embarrassed to admit she was wrong and just wants you back.
Her throw away comment admitting she would be jealous if she saw you with another girl seems to betray her true feelings towards you. The only thing I can suggest is that the two of you sit down and have a proper talk about where you both stand. No more silly games and no more of you trying to read her mind by thinking you know what is going on in her head, because you don't! Sit her down and fingers crossed you two can work out your problems and be back in each others arms again.
