The greatest conspiracy films ever made
The Game (1997)
Ever thought that everybody is after you? Expertly directed by David Fincher ('Se7en') who turning the conspiracy genre in on itself, 'The Game' doesn't claim that a big corporation is deceiving an entire nation or covering up a higher power's indiscretions. Instead, it is one company going after one relatively normal man, destroying everything that comforts him, toying with him as if he is just a pawn in their twisted game, but why?
Michael Douglas plays a lonely but successful businessman who is relentlessly hunted by a sinister corporation, after his brother (Sean Penn) gives him a very unique birthday present - a live action game that consumes his life and sends him on the run. But are they hunting him as part of the game or trying to actually kill him so they can claim his fortune? 'The Game' will keep you guessing right up until its (admittedly overblown) finale.
