Factory
The Manchester based Factory label was founded in 1978 and had a huge influence over the 'Madchester' movement. Founded by the late Tony Wilson and Alan Erasmus the men behind the famed Hacienda nightclub this small label will never be forgotten.
Their first real signing was the tragically fated Joy Division followed by the likes of the Happy Mondays and James. Although Wilson never signed a single act to written contract.
