80 British couples are taking part in trials for a male equivalent of the Pill. Doctors are hoping that it will liberate women from the heavy load of family planning by sharing the responsibility more with the men.
The contraceptive, given in injections administered every two months, leads the brain into shutting off sperm production. Doctors claim that it is 99% successful and that sperm counts rapidly return to normal when the drug is stopped.
