Unforgettable movie heists
'The Dark Knight' (2008)
Initially, plenty of filmgoers were concerned about Heath Ledger's attempt to fill the Joker's epic shoes after Jack Nicholson managed it so flawlessly. However, the opening five minutes of the film perfectly introduces us to the Joker in all of his twisted, meticulous and unhinged glory as he robs a bank to fund his criminal deeds.
Being more than a little influenced by Michael Mann's 'Heat' is certainly not a bad thing for a heist scene and director Christopher Nolan manages to raise the bar while orchestrating double cross after double cross within minutes. After this introduction to the Joker it's no wonder all eyes were on him and not Batman.
