What and what not to eat to beat cancer
Foods to eat
Beans and pulses
These are packed with cancer protective fibre, as well as polyphenols and lignans which have been found to limit a tumour's growth.
A recent study found that women who ate beans two to four times a week were 25% less likely to develop breast cancer than women who rarely ate them.
You can easily add beans and pulses to your diet. Pour some kidney beans or lentils to chillies, bolognaise, stews and soups two to three times a week. You can also snack on humous and edamame beans for an extra dose.
