When music legends form supergroups
The Dead Weather
Formed: 2009-
The lineup: Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs), Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age), Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs).
The story: Jack White managed to make blues music popular to the masses once again with his fearless twosome, The White Stripes. His next project as a singer/songwriter/guitarist was the Raconteurs, and after recording the theme to 'Quantum of Solace' and producing plenty of other albums, he still didn't come up for air. Instead he unleashed The Dead Weather.
The force of nature went public in March 2009, playing live for the first time, giving eager listeners a blast of 'Hang You From the Heavens' (their debut single from their debut album 'Horehound'). Not as bluesy as the White Stripes but intriguingly alternative, 'Horehound' may not be perfect but it is a welcome change of season for the hard rocking chameleon Jack White.
