When music legends form supergroups
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Formed: 1969-
The lineup: David Crosby (The Byrds), Stephen Stills (Buffalo Springsfield), Graham Nash (The Hollies), Neil Young (Buffalo Springsfield)
The story: The seminal folk rock supergroup may've had their bickering moments and numerous breakups, but when they were together they held a power to create both stimulating records, critical acclaim and staggering chart success.
'Déjà Vu', the 1970 first album they released together was an instant success cemented by their appearance at Woodstock. The attention to detail that the four acoustic guitarists brings to the fold has rarely been bettered, but even without Young's contribution, Crosby, Stills & Nash are a (gentle) force to be reckoned with.
