Lead singer of 60s band The Monkees, Davy Jones, has died aged 66.
The Manchester-born star is said to have passed away in his sleep after suffering a fatal heart attack.
According to entertainment website TMZ, the Daydream Believer singer complained of chest pains at his home in Florida the night before.
Brought together in 1966 for a US television series, Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork were famous for their clean-cut image and were marketing as the American answer to The Beatles.
The band initially split in 1970, but three of the band's original members - Jones, Dolenz and Tork - recently reunited to play a series of gigs.
Radio presenter Dave Lee Travis said of the Monkees frontman:
"One of the things that people will probably be thinking about Davy Jones is, the fact that he was 66.
"He always looked like a little kid. I think even in his latter years he looked very, very young."
Jones is survived by his wife Jessica and four daughters from previous marriages.
