Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder marries model girlfriend

Singer/songwriter Eddie Vedder has married his longtime girlfriend Jill McCormick on Saturday in Hawaii.

Vedder has been the frontman and chief songwriter for the influential Seattle grunge band Pearl Jam since its inception in 1990.

McCormack is a model who started her successful career aged 16 after signing with Elite Models. She is the mother of the couple's two children - six-year-old Olivia, and Harper, two.

Celebrities amongst the 70 guests spotted by US Weekly magazine at the quiet nuptials included actor Sean Penn and musician Jack Johnson. Vedder contributed songs to Sean Penn's recent film 'Into the Wild'.

Vedder proposed to McCormick on December 4 in Washington, where later that weekend he performed at a Kennedy Center event honoring Bruce Springsteen.

The marriage is McCormack's first and his second - Vedder was previously married to musician Beth Liebling from 1994 to 2000.
