Loveable cartoon rogue Dennis the Menace, was, well…de-menaced. BBC chiefs decided to take away his edge in the remake of the popular children's classic.

Gone are his bombs, catapult, water pistol and pea shooter, and in their place is a boyish grin. The BBC made the decision to give him a politically correct makeover as they recommissioned the series.
