Rod Stewart is reportedly refusing to spend £2,000 for a piper to play at his wedding.
The Scottish star, who is set to wed model Penny Lancaster later this year, allegedly told royal bag-pipe player Major Jim Motherwell that he was only prepared to offer him a token payment to perform at the ceremony - despite having a personal fortune of more than £75 million.
A source told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "Jim's a big fan of Rod's but he was stunned to be told he wouldn't be paid a fee for his performance. Instead he'd receive only nominal expenses for the honour of playing.
"Jim said he had a flat fee but was told rather curtly that he should think about the offer."
However, a spokesman for the twice-married singer denied that any plans for the lavish nuptials had been made yet.
Rod's manager, Arnold Stiefel, said: "No date has been confirmed and the wedding will not take place in Scotland.
"No calls have been made about this wedding yet."
60-year-old Rod announced his engagement to sexy Penny earlier this month.
The 'Maggie May' singer - who was previously married to models Alana Hamilton and Rachel Hunter - proposed to the 34-year-old beauty on the Eiffel Tower during a romantic holiday in Paris.
Penny gushed at the time: "I was stunned, threw my arms around him and burst into tears. I opened the box and he had bought me the most amazing Princess cut diamond engagement ring - classic and striking."
