The son of comic legend Ronnie Barker has finally appeared in court after being on the run for eight years.
In 2004, TV actor Adam Barker was accused of downloading thousands of child porn images including ‘sadistic’ child rape footage. The actor’s collection included 2,600 sickening images that fall under all five levels of child porn. Two of the images were level five – sadism and bestiality, 24 were at level four, 153 were at level three, 354 were at level two, and 2,068 at level one.
When confronted by the police, Barker skipped bail and hid abroad.
Now, after eight years and after missing the funeral for both of his parents, he has finally surrendered to the authorities. He appeared with no current address and did not say anything other than to confirm his name.
Reports say: “After flying to London with his solicitor, Barker, 44, stood emotionless in the dock as he faced five counts of downloading indecent images.”
Barker is just one of over 7,000 British men who were identified as subscribers to a child porn website based on credit card records. He had previously been imprisoned on the same charges back in 2003, when the UK’s biggest police hunt for pedophiles were carried out.
His celebrity father Ronnie Barker died in 2005, while his mother Joy died in 2011.
