Reports say that the body of Sage Stallone, Sylvester Stallone’s eldest son, was discovered at least three to four days after he died. The corpse was found Friday in his home in Los Angeles, but coroner’s officials say that his body could have lain dead for as long as a week.
According to investigation updates, the 36-year-old died after overdosing on prescription pills, which were found at the scene. The body was taken directly to the coroner’s office, not to the hospital.
Reports say that the filmmaker’s room was ‘littered with junk’ and that his living situation resembled that of troubled wealthy aviator Howard Hughes’. According to law enforcement sources, the room was smelled foul and was ‘disgusting’.
Sources say that the son of famous Rambo star was living like a recluse in his home in Studio City and that he had not spoken to his family for a week. While a housekeeper is believed to have been to the house earlier in the week prior to Sage’s death, Sage had reportedly given instructions not to enter his room. The housekeeper only checked on the room after Sage’s mother Sasha Czack called, saying that she had been unable to reach her son. This led to the discovery of Sage’s body.
The coroner is still investing whether the death had been a suicide or an accident, but a friend of Sage had come forward saying that the filmmaker was ‘healthy and upbeat’ just two weeks ago and that he ‘never knew him to do drugs’. The unidentified friend says he is ‘stunned’ that his friend died of an overdose.
Rocky legend Sylvester Stallone has released a formal statement that he is ‘devastated’ and ‘grief-stricken’ about his son’s sudden untimely death.
