Actress Shobna Gulati is set for a sensational comeback in 'Coronation Street'.
The star's character, Sunita Alahan, is believed to be being brought back to the soap just two months after she was axed.
Former producer Tony Wood decided to have the shop girl written out of the show, but now his successor, Steve "The Iceman" Frost, is set to hand her a reprieve.
An ITV source revealed to Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "We've seen scripts that have Sunita back in Weatherfield. It's not too much of a leap to think Shobna will be back too. We'd certainly welcome her back with open arms."
The latest scripts handed out to cast members last week contained a plot line that revealed Sunita and her twin babies are moving into estranged husband Dev's house - but if Dev moves out.
However, a 'Coronation Street' spokesperson has denied Sunita's reputed comeback, saying: "There are no immediate plans to bring Shobna back."
