The Eastenders hard man ends up in hospital after suffering a heart attack, when Shirley pays him a visit.

She informs Phil that she won't marry him and he suggests that in that case, they should end their relationship.

Phil then calls it off with Glenda, which sees her storm out of the hospital.

Jane and Tanya talk to Shirley about the proposal, suggesting that she should accept it, prompting her to return to the hospital.

The pair discuss the proposal, with Phil revealing that he was in a desperate situation when he proposed, but that he still stands by his decision.
