Jones arrested and facing jail

Vinnie Jones has been arrested in the US after punching a man in the face during a bar brawl and could face up to a year in jail.

The football hardman turned Hollywood actor lashed out after being glassed by a drinker in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A police spokesman said Jones apparently charged at a customer at Wiley's Tavern after a dispute over a game of pool and the man hit him with a glass.

The spokesman said: "It was a verbal argument that escalated to pushing and shoving and then a bar brawl".

Jesse Bickett, who hit Jones with the glass, was also arrested on a charge of aggravated assault.

A friend of Bickett's, Juan Barrera, told reporters that the incident started when they were playing pool and Jones asked if he could join.

Jones starred in 'X-Men: The Last Stand' playing the Juggernaut.

He has also taken on roles in 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels', 'Snatch' and 'Gone in Sixty Seconds' after retiring from football to launch a career in acting.

Jones reportedly suffered a broken nose and cuts to the face.
