PFA footballer of the year announced
Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the PFA Player of the Year. This is the second year running the Manchester United and Portugal midfielder has claimed the esteemed prize.
Ronaldo beat competition from Liverpool's Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard, Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Abedayor and the Portsmouth keeper David James to net the prize.
Ronaldo said: "I feel very happy. When you work all season to play good, to do something for the team and then at the end of the season the PFA give you this award, it is a great moment, it is an honour, a pleasure."
Cesc Febregas did not leave empty handed. The midfielder took home the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
