Baseball is known for having a flurry of superstitions, from lucky bats and gloves to more extreme cases.

One of these comes from former New York Mets baseball star, Turk Wendell, who used to brush his teeth between innings, always chew black liquorice and draw three crosses in the dirt then wave at the centre fielder before he pitched.
