Supanet staff prove victorious on pitch!

Supanet tech support engineer and life long Aston Villa fan Lee Cooper stepped up to the spot on October 15 as England's national under 21 football squad faced off against the Welsh youth side.

It was during half time that Cooper laced up his boots and took to the pitch along with three other competition winners to compete in the Nationwide penalty challenge.

While watched by 25,000 screaming fans it his goal to score more than the others and take home a prestigious England shirt signed by both the senior and youth sides.

He shoots, he...

Cooper, who had already enjoyed an expenses paid trip to the Villa Park and four tickets to watch the national game, was last when it came to taking his first shot.

Striking out with a good touch he sent the ball towards the left hand corner, hoping to fool the keeper who had gone right on the previous two occasions. But sadly the shot went ever so slightly wide.

Pressure was building but the Supanet employee showed the calm and composure he brings to the office and kept his head on straight. Then, as fast as lightening, he beat the goalie on his second attempt and scored!

As tension continued to build the third and final shot came. It was another excellent strike and another goal, taking Cooper's tally to two out of three penalties scored in this epic environment.

The man, the moment

As the dust settled it became clear that Cooper hadn't won the final but regardless a great night was had by all.

With a memory that would never be forgotten he returned with a smile on his face to his seat, having stood as a fine ambassador for Supanet on this momentous night.

Later Cooper commented on the moment. He said: I'm a big Villa fan so to score a goal on the Villa Park soil, especially at the Holte End in front of 25,000 fans was a major highlight".
