The top 10 all time Ashes heroes
2. Shane Warne - 1969
Over a thirteen year period, Warne became one the best leg spin bowlers to have ever graced the cricket pitch. But it was not until 1993 that he was considered world class, when his first ball in an Ashes series baffled England's Mike Gatting at Old Trafford.
He is considered one of the finest leaders to have never to captained Australia and after much controversy in the sport – including being charged with bringing the game into disrepute - he retired in 2006.
