When sports stars lose their cool!
Trevor Brennan
You would think that players would have learned from their predecessors outbursts'. But in 2007, another fan became embroiled in a scandal he didn't bank on when he bought his ticket.
During the Heineken Cup rugby game between Trevor Brennan's team Toulouse, and Ulster, the former Ireland international suddenly jumped into the crowd and assaulted Ulster fan Patrick Bamford.
Brennan repeatedly punched the supporter in the face, requiring hospital treatment. The rugby forward claimed he had been provoked by Bamford derogatory comments about his mother.
Brennan was fined £17,000, £3,000 in damages and banned from playing rugby for life. His suspension was later reduced to five years but the damage was already done, and his reputation as a player was left in tatters.
