TV legend Johnny Ball is the oldest contestant in Strictly Come Dancing, but he has now been left without a partner after Aliona Vilani injured her ankle while training for the show.
The redhead, who won Strictly Come Dancing last year, suffered a hairline fracture to her ankle, which has put the 28-year-old dancer on crutches.
Vilani posted photos of her and updated fans on her condition. She tweeted: “Having an x-ray in the hospital...and the verdict is...it's a hairline fracture on the right ankle bone...”
“Tweeting from my sick bed...but don't worry I'm being a good patient. Was given a BOOT and CRUTCHES...my first time ever for both.”
She, as well as many of her fans, are hoping for a quick recovery. “Thank you all so much for you amazing messages of support!!!! I'm sure I'll recovery soon lots of love!!!!”
While she’s nursing her fractured ankle, however, Aliona will have to miss the Strictly Come Dancing live show scheduled for next weekend. Initial prognosis says she will have to stay out of the dance floor for two to four weeks.
Strictly Come Dancing bosses scampered to find a stand-in replacement who will be Johnny’s partner for the show.
