David Hasselhoff fans are planning to hijack the charts in an effort to get 'The Hoff' to number one.
Devoted followers of the 'Knight Rider' star have launched an online campaign to get him to the top of the UK charts at www.gethasselhofftonumber1.com.
The website states: "Think what 'The Hoff' has given to the world, 'Knight Rider', 'Baywatch', the reunification of East and West Germany and untold laughter from forwarded e-mails of him in hotpants.
"He's given us a lot. It's time we gave something back.
"'The Hoff' is having a hard time. He's split from his wife. He needs a lift. Let's help him out with something that would mean the world to him."
Once 75,000 people have signed up to the campaign a 'Hoff Alert' will be sent out telling fans to simultaneously purchase David's 80s hit 'Looking for Freedom' from iTunes.
If successful the campaign would rocket the single to number one because of changes to the way the UK chart is compiled.
Meanwhile, Hasselhoff is recovering from emergency surgery after he severed a tendon in a bizarre shaving accident.
The star - who is in London filming a new advertising campaign - was in Sanderson Hotel's gym bathroom when he hit his head on a chandelier and was showered by glass.
