3. Dora Maar au Chat by Pablo Picasso (£60m)
An anonymous Russian bidder parted with £60,090,818 ($95,216,000) for this cubist portrait of Picasso's lover Dora Maar and her cat from 1941. It went at Sotheby's New York in 2006, for nearly double the pre-auction estimate.
