Cathay Pacific Flight Wifi
Cathay Pacific to offer in-flight high-speed WiFi in 2018.
16:25 27 November 2017
The Cathay Pacific Group has announced that it will be offering high-speed WiFi to its Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 fleets starting mid-2018. The service, which will be made possible by Gogo’s 2Ku satellite-based broadband inflight connectivity technology, will allow customers to browse the web, check emails, and shop online using their WiFi-enabled devices.
Cathay Pacific South African country manager, Ashish Kapur, said: “We have been listening to our customers who have told us that staying connected in flight is important to them. Our passengers will soon be able to roam the cabin and the internet when the fasten seat belt sign comes off at 35,000 feet.
“We hope that by 2020 all of our wide-body aircraft will have inflight connectivity capabilities. This will open up a wealth of opportunities for us to provide more innovative experiences for our customers,” he said.
“Our goal is to allow our customers to be connected anytime and anywhere, and this agreement with Gogo is a huge step in enabling us to deliver this,” added Kapur.
