Fibaro, a global manufacturer of home monitoring and automation devices, is now shipping its Door/Window Sensor 2, which is designed to monitor the status of the door, window, gate, and blinds it is connected to in order to help avoid break-ins and energy loss.
The Z-Wave Plus certified smart home device can be connected to Fibaro’s Home Centre ecosystem and accessed with its dedicated smart app on a phone, tablet or browser. The device’s features include an internal temperature sensor as well as tamper sensor that will alert the user if someone tries to remove it. It also has a longer battery life, better RF coverage, faster operation and it is easier to install.
The sensor can be pre-programmed to trigger certain events. For example, if the door is opened by the homeowner, a “welcome home” scene can be activated wherein the front hall lights or air conditioning is automatically turned on.
Smaller than its predecessor, the sensor can be easily mounted on any style of door or window using the included strong two-sided adhesive. With built-in tamper protection, any attempt to open or remove the sensor sends an instant alert to the user.
