Russia Testing 5G
Rostelecom to conduct a 5G trial at Russia’s State Hermitage Museum.

Rostelecom is working with Ericcson on conducting a 5G trial at Russia’s State Hermitage Museum. The trial aims to explore virtual reality, robotics and haptic technology, which recreates the feeling of touch remotely.
The museum and telcos have already signed a memorandum of understanding which will see the zone to be set up in the first half of 2018. The trials will run on the 3.5Ghz band. Ericsson will deliver the solutions for the project and wok on implementing and integrating the technology.
Sebastian Tolstoy, Head of Ericsson in Russia, said: "The introduction of innovative digital solutions is a top priority in Russia and the partnership between Ericsson, Rostelecom, and the Hermitage is an important step in this direction.”
