Emmerdale's fatal fall
TV
09:30 06 September 2006
Three 'Emmerdale' characters are about to meet a watery end.
After a dramatic car chase, kidnapping duo Cain Dingle and Sadie King together with their victim Tom King, are plunged into danger as their vehicle speeds into a quarry.
However, the soap producers have refused to reveal if any of the characters will survive the fall into the water-filled quarry.
A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "It is our biggest storyline of the year and we are not going to spoil it by spilling the beans.
"All three characters are leaving the Dales and that is all we are saying."
Cain, played by Jeff Hordley, 36, and Patsy Kensit's character Sadie plan to make a fortune by kidnapping Tom and demanding a staggering £5 million ransom.
But as always in soapland there is a dastardly twist - scheming Sadie is actually plotting to double-cross Cain by framing him for the crime and pocketing all the ransom money herself.
Cain overhears Sadie telling Tom - played by Ken Farrington, 70 - all about the scam and furiously attacks the pair, ignoring Sadie's pleas to stop because she is pregnant with his baby.
The source added: "Cain will eventually decide to make a break for it with two hostages, but it isn't long before he's spotted by the police.
"With cars in hot pursuit and a helicopter overhead, he drives into the woods towards a quarry."
Will anyone survive?
