Is Britain becoming a surveillance society?
The Google Latitude
Google has launched a tracking device which allows users to keep a round the clock check on their partners or family wherever they are in the world.
The Latitude feature - available to Blackberry mobile owners or those with handheld computers - is being promoted as a "fun" way to "keep tabs on someone special".
Google have said that the feature is in no way an invasion of privacy with users having to agree to make their whereabouts known. However it's sure to raise concerns about privacy and whether it is encouraging a Big Brother culture.
