Whitney Houston passes away aged 48

Whitney Houston has died, aged 48.
The legendary singer was found dead in her Beverly Hilton Hotel room on Saturday afternoon.
She had been staying in the hotel ahead of attending the Grammys and Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy gala, where she was due to perform.
The Bodyguard star is survived by her daughter Bobbi Kristina and her mother Cissy Houston.
The Houston family said in a statement:
“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney. This is an unimaginable tragedy and we will miss her terribly.
“We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends.”
Clive Davis, Whitney’s mentor throughout her career told friends:
"She was full of life, looking forward for tonight. She loved music and she loved this night that celebrated music.
"Whitney was a beautiful person and she had a talent beyond compare. She graced this stage so many times. So simply put, Whitney would have wanted the music to go on."
Aretha Franklin, the troubled star’s godmother, said in a short statement:
"I just can't talk about it now. It's so stunning and unbelievable. I couldn't believe what I was reading coming across the TV screen."
The multi-platinum selling artist was plagued by drug and alcohol addictions throughout her career, which dogged her personal and professional life.
Jennifer Hudson performed an emotional tribute to the late star at last night’s Grammys, singing her biggest hit - the Dolly Parton penned, I Will Always Love You.
Hudson finished her performance singing "Whitney, we will always love you".
