A new allegation against Jimmy Savile and his supposed paedophilic activity has emerged, as a former porter at Leeds General Infirmary hospital has reportedly told of Savile’s late night meetings with girls.
It is thought that the ex-TV presenter would turn up late at night with girls and visit the nurses’ accommodation before leaving at dawn. Terry Pratt, who used to work at the hospital as a porter, told the BBC that the girls seemed “star-struck” by Savile and were not “streetwise”.
Apparently this activity happened a few times each month during the 1980s based on reports.
Savile was a well-known volunteer and fundraiser for the Leeds hospital, and supposedly he was given keys to the nurses’ blocks.
A spokesman for Leeds General Infirmary has said that the institute is “shocked” with regards to the allegations relating to Jimmy Savile, and that they will help police with their investigations.
The spokesperson said, as quoted by the Mail Online: “We continue to be shocked by each new allegation. It is important that they are investigated properly.”
He added: “The trust is in contact with senior detectives from the Metropolitan Police and we have indicated our intention to help with their inquiries.
“If there are any issues which need to be addressed following the police investigation then we will take action.”
Officials are investigating 300 cases concerning Jimmy Savile and sex abuse claims that span over a period of 40 years.
Alongside the recent news on the late ‘Jim'll Fix It’ star, this week the former pop artist Gary Glitter was questioned by police in connection to the Savile investigations. Glitter was released on bail until December.
