Kylie Minogue has revealed how discovering she had cancer was like a "bomb" being dropped.
In an emotional TV interview Kylie opened her heart about her cancer battle.
She said: "It's such a personal journey, even though you need the people all around you. I would just quietly go to my bedroom and just have 20 minutes to myself and try and deal with everything. I really felt bad for everyone around me.
"I'm like, 'Oh, my God. My poor parents'. It's like a bomb has been dropped."
Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer last April but has now been given the all clear. She made the difficult decision to announce her diagnosis, and to battle the illness publicly.
She revealed in the interview with British TV presenter Cat Deeley which will be screened on satellite TV channel Sky One on Sunday (16.07.06): "I had one day's grace where I knew and I went for a walk to the beach with my brother and my boyfriend and I would have been in a total daze. And then the next day we made the announcement and I was virtually a prisoner in the house. I was completely thrown into another world.
"The days you didn't see me or no one saw me were the days that I simply couldn't get up or could not do anything.
"To walk to the corner store was a great achievement. I did it!"
The 38-year-old singer has a strong message for cancer sufferers: "You can get through it. You can."
Kylie now plans to resume her 'Showgirl' world tour at the end of the year in Australia.
