Some snap-happy people takes out of this world selfies at the edge of space in a MiG 29 fighter jet, shelling out £12,000 in the process. Pilots who have thousands of pounds to spare fly 12 miles above the Earth’s surface at supersonic speed to get ultimate selfies.
33-year-old Philipp Schaer runs the company, MiG FLUG, which offers the sorties to the edge of space, where the £20million jets can reach speeds of up to Mach 2. The flights take off from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.
Philipp said: “The power of these military planes is unparalleled
“The MiG-29 has a climb rate of one kilometre (0.62 miles) every three seconds.
“The view at the edge of space is comparable with a satellite image.
“Customers can control every single jet themselves.
“It's the craziest thing to do, and absolutely unforgettable.”
Philipp added: “MiGFlug only works with professionals.”
“We are very careful with what we do and have a strong quality focus.
“We haven't had a single, even small incident in over ten-years, with countless passengers every year.
“The edge of space flights is probably the most unique adventure available worldwide.
“Customers’ reactions differ a lot but what they all have in common, is that it's a unique experience - they'll never forget it.
“We keep in touch with most Edge of Space customers - they contact us years later and say how often they still think about this day.”
