MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace was caught by a police safety camera van driving at 82mph though a 50mph zone with his £85,000 Jaguar XKR convertible last April.
The 47-year-old millionaire TV star pled no contest and was fined £1330 for speeding. In addition, he was given six penalty points on his license and ordered to pay £85 costs.
Mr Wallace was driving around Detling near Maidstone, Kent, in April 12th. To date, there have been ten people who were killed or seriously injured on the stretch of the road as confirmed by Communications Officer for Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership Katherine Barrett.
She said, as quoted by the Mail Online: “Safety cameras operate at sites where people have been killed or seriously injured.
“On this stretch of road from Maidstone towards the County Showground there were 8 people killed or seriously injured within the signed camera area before the site was installed and 2 people in the last three years.”
She insisted: “We do not want to catch people speeding.
“We would like them to drive within the speed limits to as to reduce the number of crashes and casualties.
“We offer Speed Awareness courses to drivers who are within a certain threshold.
“However, excessive speed cases such as this are referred to court.”
