ITV has announced the start date for the series nine of the X Factor. The talent show will begin its ninth series on Saturday, the 18th of August.
The X Factor will once again search for the best solo singer or group in the UK with the help of judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, and Louis Walsh. They will also be joined by Nicole Sherzinger for this upcoming series. Sherzinger will replace Kelly Rowland as a judge.
Prior to the selection of Sherzinger, guest judges Rita Ora, 2006 X Factor winner Leona Lewis, and Spice Girls Mel B and Geri Halliwell were called in.
There are some changes to the show, though, particularly in the selection of participants. Unlike in the previous series, acts that have or have been previously under management deals can join the show.
Some things will remain unchanged though, including the choice of presenter. Dermot O’Leary will be back this season.
The premiere of the new series will run for a full 75 minutes.
The show has propelled several artists to fame and is hoping to do so again this year. Some of the stars popularized by the show include One Direction and Alexandra Burke. Last year, the winning talents came from girl group Little Mix.
