Regardless of how long your train journey is to and from your place of work each day, the chances are it will soon become the most tedious part of your life. There are, after all, only so much people watching that can be done, especially when you are trying to not make eye contact or look intrusive or intimidating.
However, on the upside of using public transport at least, you can entertain yourself with different pastimes, whereas if you were traveling by car, you would only be able to listen to music or the radio because all concentration should be on the road in front of you, even if you are stuck in a traffic jam.
Read a book
There is a wide range of books available to download online if you do not want to carry an actual paperback or hard-backed book around with you. It is worth noting that some have been adapted for online reading, so you may not get the unabridged version, it is of course, far better to get the real version the original author wanted their audience to read as this will undoubtedly be far better, and you will be able to enjoy it to its maximum level.
There is definitely something to getting yourself immersed within a really good book and getting some true escapism from the world around you. It is a great idea to have some kind of alarm set on your cell phone so that you don’t miss your stop from being too immersed in a really good and exciting bit of the plot.
Play some games
There are numerous games that can be downloaded and played on your cell phone, some of which can be dipped in and out of for when you have short periods of time to spare to relieve the boredom of not just long journeys but the short ones too. There are, of course, long-haul games with big storylines that take a good long time to complete but can still be played in small bursts if you feel that you will not get too heavily involved in their action.
Obviously, when it comes to playing while you commute, you will probably want more the short or quick games such as Candy Crush or similar match-three games, or if you are more interested in challenging games that need a bit of skill, you can play puzzles games. Alternatively, if you’re after games that are all down to chance, looking to places like casinoscout could be a good option for you.
Listen to music
Being able to close your eyes, plug yourself into your cell phone, and be joined on your journey by your favorite band or a mixture of your desired music options is a very good and relaxing way to spend your traveling time.
There really is nothing wrong with spending your traveling time daydreaming about your favorite music, whether it is in total fantasy or if you are planning your future that is far in the distance or maybe even a change in your career so that you do not have to complete the same trip day in and day out.
