A week in soaps
00:01 14 May 2005
Coronation Street
A week of fights kicked off when Dev accused bully Charlie of shoddy work. The builder let this insult lie, but responded to a smart comment about girlfriend Shelley by giving Dev a punch in the face.
Elsewhere, Kevin lunged at Ian in the mistaken belief that the slimy salesman had been hitting on his wife. Of course, Ian had been hitting on Sally, but what Kevin hasn't yet realised is that she returned his affections.
And then Cilla finally lost it with Rocky in the chip shop, getting into a ketchup fight. She decided she needed a quick way to make some money, so came up with the idea of marrying Les to cash in on the wedding presents.
Emmerdale
There was romance in the air when Robert proposed to Katie and she accepted, although inevitably the good news soon turned to bad when his affair with Sadie was unearthed.
Andy was the first to find out and confronted his brother. When Katie turned up to see the pair fighting and realised why, she was devastated and threatened to quit the village.
Elsewhere, Sadie looked like she was on to a good thing when she went into business with the Kings over some land. When the locals found out their plans for a huge development, however, they scuppered the project and Sadie was out on her ear. Again.
EastEnders
When Chrissie was helping tidy up at Sam's place after a burglary, she finally got her hands on the dog-shaped doorstop that she used to batter her husband to death.
She furiously took a scrubbing brush to the hapless item and cleaned away all evidence of her dirty deed before returning the dog to Pauline, its rightful owner.
Meanwhile, Ruby finally found out that her dad has not been entirely truthful about his affair with Tina and how long it has been going on - and lost the plot when she realised they had been dating when her mum was still alive.
Hollyoaks
Louise and Lisa were sparring off each other all week as Lisa got more and more upset about her archrival's ever closer relationship with hunky fireman Ben.
Lisa's brother Lee was also engaged in a bit of a stand-off as he attempted to intimidate fellow student union president candidate Zara. Needless to say, it didn't really work.
