Any Student can Make a Discovery!
All branches of science need a constant cycle of existing knowledge and the acquisition of new ones for the next step to the next discovery.

Those who purposefully came to scientific activity should understand that in the modern world, the implementation of projects is possible only with financial support. Therefore, modern research in the European Union and other developed countries is carried out with the help of grants. The source can be the scientific community, the state, an enterprise, an educational institution, and others. It is not easy to get such funding, because any scientific project will have competitors, and you, as a future scientist, need to correctly and competently present your project at the appropriate competition. This experience is good to get while still a student. Many students prefer to buy argumentative essay, so they have more time for scientific research.
It is worth noting that in some countries there are no prohibitions on receiving a grant at the request of a student. It is only necessary to take into account that often the curriculum does not provide for obtaining fundamentally new knowledge when performing scientific work. As a rule, students can lead a research project and research new problems on grants received by their teachers. But there are other cases when a group of students from senior courses, novice scientists, were able to find an interesting and little-studied topic. In this case, you should learn more about the concept of "grant" as such and the rules for obtaining it.
"Grant" — what is it?
It's simple, a grant is a type of sponsorship for a project. The whole idea belongs to the author, the grant covers only part of the implementation costs. The remaining part falls on the share of the scientific institution where the project is supposed to be implemented. This includes the use of laboratory equipment, the provision of premises, and so on. The grant-giver does not interfere in the work of the project, and the process itself and the purposefulness of expenditures are controlled through a system of periodic reports from the grant-holders.
Important, grants are awarded according to the victory in the corresponding contests. An expert commission consisting of specialists in their respective fields is being created. The deadlines for submitting applications are specified and the most significant project is selected, according to the council of experts.
Types of grants:
1. Personal scholarships (presidential, governmental, gubernatorial, named after scientists, etc.). To receive such a scholarship, you must submit:
- copy of the exams’ grades;
- copies of certificates indicating participation in scientific competitions;
- documents certifying the existence of patents;
- a feature from the dean.
This is the most likely way to get funding for their research work for undergraduates and postgraduates because the named scholarship is intended for them. It is worth noting that usually, these grants don’t provide substantial amounts of money.
2. Grants from state and non-state funds (foreign and domestic).
Such institutions are created specifically to support various scientific research, and financial assistance can amount to several hundred thousand dollars. Only it is much more difficult for a student and a post-graduate student to get such a grant, because it will compete with established scientists, maybe even doctors of science. When preparing the reports for a grant application, students can get help from an essay assistant.
3. Grants from enterprises.
The student should not count on such funding, because such grants are created for a project that is interesting to the enterprise. In general, the grant holders are laboratories or project research institutes, and we are talking about the real income of the enterprise, and not about young scientists.
4. Federal targeted programs that support mainly innovative projects.
Major projects are funded in the areas that the programs are designed for.
How do I get a grant?
To do this, you need to go through three stages. The first of them is the development of the project and its theoretical foundations. Important at this stage is the belief in the relevance of the topic and its practical application. The applicant must understand what he is doing and why. Therefore, it is necessary to clearly define the purpose of the project, tasks, and methods of implementation.
At the second stage, it is necessary to choose a research supervisor and the organization that will help in conducting research. As stated from the very beginning, the grant will cover only part of the costs, the rest will fall on the shoulders of the very organization that assists in the implementation of the project. We are already talking about the fact that leading scientists of departments and faculties in your university can already receive grants for general work in their departments. Often, it is from them that the majority of student work is funded. But this does not mean that a student cannot receive a personal grant. It is precisely in the novelty and significance of his research that he must convince a potential supervisor. The topics of your research should lie in the same scientific field. The feedback of the project manager is one of the necessary conditions for participation in the grant competition.
If we talk about the organization based on which you are going to implement the project, then you should give preference to a research institute or university.
The final stage is to get the first results and make an application. It is very important to develop a good topic and get serious evidence of your theory. Therefore, the application for a grant is not a matter of one day. This includes participation in conferences with the design of term papers and the publication of theses and a lot of practical work. This is supposed to minimize the possibility of "inefficient investment".
The main sections of the grant application are:
- goals and objectives;
- the importance of the stated topic for the country and the world;
- primary data;
- list of publications;
- research plan;
- list of literature;
- expected outcome.
This year, there is also a list of grants that every worthy project can receive. It is not difficult to find them, the most important thing is to believe in yourself and go straight to your goal.
