Once you have made sure that your license is in order and that you are eligible to hire a car in Thailand, you will need to find a hire company with affordable rates. There are a number of hire car companies to choose from in Thailand, many which can all be found with a quick search on Google.
Comparing their rates is recommended so that you can find the most affordable vehicle that suits your needs. It is also recommended that you hire a navman or similar device to help you find your way around the country; this relieves stress and will help make your drive a relaxed one.
Finally, once you have rented your car it is nice to know some of the road rules. In Thailand they drive on the left hand side of the road and it is compulsory only for drivers and front-seat passengers to wear a seat-belt.
City speed limits are usually 30 to 37mph and express-ways and other major roads can reach 55 to 75mph. All drivers are legally required to have third-party insurance as a minimum, but it is still a good idea to take out comprehensive insurance when travelling.
