Last month, director Zack Snyder had revealed that Superman will return to the big screen in 2015 together with another super hero, Batman. Now, it was announced that Ben Affleck has been chosen to play Caped Crusader in Man of Steel sequel.
In a statement, Warner Bros President Greg Silverman said: "We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics' most enduringly popular super heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill and then some.”
Meanwhile, Snyder said that he “cannot wait” to work with Ben Affleck. "(Affleck) has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne," he said, as referred to in one report by The Daily Mail.
Adding: "I can't wait to work with him."
Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane will also appear on the sequel that is yet to be given a title.
