After being sent to prison in March, Chris Huhne and Vicky Pryce have left jail after serving part of their sentences for perverting the course of justice. The prison sentences handed to Chris Huhne, aged 58, and Vicky Pryce, 60, was for eight months.
The pair, who served 62 days of their sentences, were jailed over a driving offence concerning Vicky Pryce taking Chris Huhne’s speeding points. This relates to a driving incident which occurred during their marriage around ten years ago.
Both will wear electronic tags following their release from jail in order for them to be monitored, as this comes under the Home Detention Curfew scheme.
Chris Huhne, previously an energy secretary, agreed that his then wife Vicky Pryce took his points in regards to the speeding offence.
Chris Huhne left prison in Gloucestershire while Vicky Pryce left jail in Kent. It is believed that both live in the UK in London.
It is understood that if an individual is given a prison sentence that is for less than 12 months they are automatically released after serving 6 months.
Those with sentences of three months to four years (aside from sentences relating to sex offences and violence) could also be release from prison on home detention curfews, as referred to in one report by The Independent.
