Dursley now has a new CCTV system.
10:28 20 August 2018
A new CCTV system has been installed in Dursley to address anti-social behaviour and acts of vandalism particularly in the town centre. The new system, which is in addition to the existing Stroud CCTV system, provides HD quality images. The 12 cameras cover a number of areas, including the War Memorial Recreation Ground and new Long Street Car Park.
Mayor of Dursley, Cllr Neil Grecian, said: “CCTV is something that the council has been considering for some time,"
"We hope that the new town council system will provide the police with greater assistance and wider coverage of the town centre, which sadly has often been the focus for anti-social behaviour and acts of vandalism”.
Suzi Abraham, chair of Dursley Business Inclusive, said: “We are delighted with the installation of the new CCTV system and are more confident that our businesses are now protected should there be any further anti-social behaviour in the town centre.
"We would like to thank Dursley Town Council for the system.”
