The stars of EastEnders have been told to keep a low profile, or risk having their movements restricted.
Producers of the soap decided to write to their cast after one too many stories of misbehaviour hit the press.
An Albert Square insider explained to the Daily Mirror: "The people who run the show felt like things were getting out of control and that certain people had to be reined in.
"So they decided to write letters spelling out exactly what they expect from their actors and reminding them that bringing the show into disrepute is a disciplinary matter.
"If there's any more trouble their movements will be monitored and even restricted - and if they don't like it, they know what they can do."
EastEnders has had a torrid year, it was not even nominated for the soap Bafta, has seen scandals hitting the press at regular intervals and its ratings have plummeted to record lows.
